Cenotaph, Rickerby Park

Set within Rickerby Park on the banks of the River Eden in Carlisle, the Cenotaph is a memorial to those who died in the First World War.  It was completed ahead of the official opening of Rickerby Park as a public space in 1922.

The restoration works, completed in 2014, including re-pointing works and careful stone cleaning, and was part of a wider landscaping scheme that included planting of a new avenue of trees within the park.
